Multiple times, Einstein admitted that he was influenced by Arthur Schopenhauer, the crabby and disgruntled but fascinating philosopher who died in 1860. I will discuss how Schopenhauer affected Einstein's views on free will, determinism, spacetime, and to escape from personal problems.
